Having worked with Fulkrum for four years in 2015, Shelby has spent the last few years developing her career in recruitment and now returns to the company as a Recruitment Coordinator!
- Can you introduce yourself?
My name is Shelby Brown and I am a Recruitment Coordinator based in our Corby office. I have been in this role for two months, but I actually started my recruitment career at Fulkrum and previously worked with the team for four years.
- What is your background/career history and what led to your current position?
I’ve been in recruitment for around nine years now, starting with Fulkrum in 2015. They supported me and helped me to progress through my Recruitment level 2 and level 3 qualification which led to moving into a resourcing position within the company.
After four years, I moved on to work in a cross-industry variety of recruitment roles including for the NHS. Now, in a full-circle moment, I’m delighted to be back with Fulkrum as a Recruitment Coordinator!
- Can you give an insight into your working day and your key responsibilities at Fulkrum?
I support our global offices with all recruitment activities including inspector resourcing, internal roles and technical staffing. A typical day for me, would consist of sourcing for the right candidates, worldwide to support our global clients. Some of my other duties include placing adverts for all recruitment activities and building relationships with our candidates and clients.
- What made you choose Fulkrum and what do you enjoy most about your job?
The main thing that stands out to me about Fulkrum is the culture.
Fulkrum really value their employees with constant support and training, they invest in our continual development. The employees constantly communicate with one another, everyone is more than happy to help or support you with any situation. I love the variety of my day – no two days are the same!
- What is a fun fact about yourself?
I once climbed an active volcano in Bali, Mount Batur!
- What advice would you give young people entering the industry?
Learn from everyone. Take in every opportunity you are given to learn from the people and resources around you – everyone has something to offer!
