Meet Zoe! One of our valued Senior QC Coordinators based in our Aberdeen office.
Meet Zoe! Having joined our team in September of this year, Zoe has already made a strong impression on the team, proving herself to be a valued member of the team who is eager to continue learning and progressing in the industry. With nearly a decade of experience, Zoe has taken a hands-on approach in her role as Senior QC Coordinator. Sharing an insight into her day-to-day role and what her experience has taught her far, here’s what she had to say.
- Can you tell us about your career history prior to joining Fulkrum?
Prior to starting in my role with Fulkrum, I had worked for a manufacturing and services company for around nine years. Starting out as an Inspection Administrator in 2013, I spent two years carrying out key admin tasks which involved uploading inspector documentation, invoicing and booking inspector travel.
Later, in 2015, I moved to the competency team which consisted of an Opito approved process that involved analysing KPI data extracted from coordination reports to help create a clear picture of performance and shape new objectives.
From there, I moved up to Inspection Coordinator in 2019 before being promoted to Senior Coordinator in April 2021 prior to joining Fulkrum in September of this year.
- What does a typical day look like in your role?
A typical day consists of sourcing experienced inspectors worldwide to support our clients and reacting to requests swiftly and efficiently which can occasionally be a hectic process due to the number of requests that come in as they can range anywhere between 10-20 per day.
Depending on the nature of the request, some can be for project work and others can be for rental equipment which would require coordination promptly and in a shorter period of time.
I also spend time reviewing all inspector flash reports/full reports to ensure they are correct prior to being submitted to the client – it’s a very fast-paced job!
- Having been in Coordinator roles since 2015, how does your experience contribute to Fulkrum’s commitment to quality assurance?
Over the years, my experience has taught me that attention to detail is so important. For example, it’s essential to make sure you check the finer details when it comes to NOI’s (Notice of Inspection), drawing revs, ITP’s (Inspection Test Plans) etc as this ensures everyone is kept up to date throughout the project. If an inspection is done based on the wrong drawing or specs then this can cause major problems depending on what was changed within the revisions. At Fulkrum, we’re committed to ensuring mistakes like this are avoided, and I’m proud of the work we do to provide our clients with reliable, reputable and quality-assured services.
- What are some short-term goals of yours?
In the short term, I’m focused on strengthening relationships with our clients, and I hope to be able to visit them overseas to work on building lasting relationships face-to-face. The key to success revolves around strengthening communication between us and our clients – the team at Fulkrum will always go above and beyond to ensure we are exceeding our clients’ expectations.
- What is the best piece of advice you’ve received in your career?
The best advice I was given is to always give your best – if a job’s worth doing, it’s worth doing well!
